He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Garrett Martin and Paul Elmo Martin. He is survived by: his pets, Pretzel, Weazer and Lucy; his wife Karen Wierwille Martin; his brother Frederick W. Martin of Aurora, Ohio; his daughters, Darcy Martin Gagnon (Joe Gagnon) of Houston, Sarah-Marie Martin (Nick Brophy) of Sea Girt and Joelle Martin Hussey (Lloyd Hussey) of Thousand Oaks, California; and his grandchildren, Camille Gagnon, Joseph Gagnon, Jr., Eyerusalem Brophy, Martin Brophy, James Brophy, Skylar Brophy, Quinn Brophy, Faith Hussey, Gabrielle Hussey and Eden Hussey.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Tallowood Baptist Church (555 Tallowood Rd, Houston, TX 77024). A reception was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jim's memory to the American Battlefield Trust (http://www.battlefields.org.) which seeks to preserve hallowed ground for posterity or to Gracewood (http://www.gracewood.org.) which provides home, hope and healing to single mothers.
