It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Jean Heflin of Houston, Texas, who passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Dorothy Jean's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Dorothy Jean has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Augusta Poole Moore and Vastine Moore; and her nephew William Bruce King. She is survived by: her husband Maurice Heflin; her daughters, Kimberly Heflin and Nicole Heflin Beaty; her stepson Van High; her sister Bonnie Ruth King (Leo Marty Judice); and her son-in-law Victor Beaty. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:55 AM at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church (5530 Van Fleet St, Houston, TX 77033). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at the Houston Memorial Gardens (2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581).
