David Bernard left this world on June 1, 2024 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by : his parents, Julius Turkel and Lorraine Daily Field (Daily); his stepfather Allen Field; and his sister Rita T. Lee, MD. He is survived by : his wife Dr. Joy Blumenreich (Phyllis); his children, Adam Turkel (Laurie Lehoski), Julia Turkel Weisberg (Charlie), Sacha Bodner (Samantha) and Zac Bodner; his grandchildren, Asher, Sam Weisberg, Naya and Ezra Bodner; and also, Jeremy Lee (Elisabeth), David Lee (Daphne), Mary Lee (Jay Schusterman), Jessica Lee Freedson (Armyn) and Veronica Strulovich (Shlomi). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and dear friends.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, June 5th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Gordon Chapel of Congregation Beth Israel (5600 N Braeswood Blvd, Houston, TX 77096).
