She was predeceased by: her husband Lionel Alvarez; and her grandson Stephen Eric Alvarez. She is survived by: her children, Paul Eric Alvarez (Elizabeth Alvarez), Rene Alvarez (Kimberly Azofeifa), Daryl Anthony Alvarez (Alexis Bazan) and Nancy Gonzalez (Marcos Gonzalez); her siblings, Francisco Mata, Maximiliano Mata and Maria; her grandchildren, Adriana, Joseph, Daniel, Sophia, Noah Alexander and Delfina; and her great grandchildren, Michael and Alexander.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Compean Funeral Home (2102 Broadway St, Houston, TX 77012). A rosary was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (7250 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011). A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023).
