He is survived by: his parents, Clifford Layton and Nina Layton of Pearland, Texas; his sons, Bryan Layton (Rowena) of San Antonio and Charles Ray Layton, Jr. of Pearland, Texas; his brother Ronald Layton (Lori) of Deer Park, Texas; his nephews, Kevin and Austin Layton; his grandchildren, Bryan and Bea Layton; his stepchildren, Kenny, Mandy, Chantelle, Sherri and Dana; and his stepgranddaughter Leilani.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlie's honor to the Pearland Church of Christ, 2217 N. Grand Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581.
