Richard Newton wrote a sympathy message

“I met Brian when we were kids. I remember he and his father as fixtures in the early days of the First Colony Soccer Club, where they both introduced me and so many to the game. While we were not the closest of friends, Brian had a way of making you feel like you were a pal. I remember talking sports with him and him teaching me so much about Judaism. Today I’m a religion professor at Alabama. I wish we could catch up, but I’m thankful for all he shared with me. May his memory be a blessing.”
