He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolores Villarreal Rodriguez and Jesus Maria Rodriguez; his siblings, Jesus Jesse Rodriguez and Dora Villarreal Rodriguez; and his nephew Miguel Jesus Daniel.

He is survived by: his wife Rita Alvarado Rodriguez; his children, Atty and Judge Angela Dolores Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Carlos Antonio, Andrés Hector, Lorenzo Adam, Rebekah Cynthia and David Henry; his brothers, Carlos "Charlie" Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez and Johnny Rodriguez (Irma); his nephews, Johnny and Thomas; his sisters, Dolores Rodriguez Gallegos and Gloria Rodriguez Daniel (Miguel); and his nieces and nephews, Dolores Facundo (Jesus), Victoria Saldivar (Gus), Gustavo, Daniel Saldivar and Cecilia Facundo.

An outstanding lawyer, judge, friend, father, son, brother and grandfather, he inspired one and all to serve the community and make contributions for the betterment of Houston.
