He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry N. Hambric and Mary Louise Hambric; his former wife Jane; and his sister Patricia (Jones). He is survived by: his wife Carolina; his daughter Hillary; his siblings, Harry N. "Hap" Hambric, Pam (Fox) and Paula (Lilly); his stepsons, Michael G. and Steven A. McKinny; his granddaughters, Elise and Tristyn McKinny; and his nieces and nephews, Cindy Jones, Anna Falkenstein, Steen Hambric, A. McKenzie Fox Coats, Barrett Fox, Michael, Sara Lilly, Maddy, Allison and Jonathan McCoy.
Perhaps his greatest contribution to the district came from his work with the SISD Foundation which worked to award scholarships to high school seniors throughout the district. While volunteering with the SISD Foundation, he served as Membership Chairperson followed by Scholarship Committee Chair the second year; then Vice President his third year.
