It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melva Burkland of Hooks, Texas, born in Wellington, North Island, who passed away on September 12, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Carmichael and Elsie Carmichael; and her husband David W. Burkland. She is survived by: her children, Vicky McMurrich of Australia, Kim Keith of Little Rock, Craig Burkland (Connie) of Hampton, Virginia, Joanne Ramsey (Rick) of Cabot and Cory Burkland (Sonya) of Hooks, Texas; and her sister Pamela Tarrabe of Henderson, Nevada.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
