He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Lewis and Retha Russell Lewis; his wife Phyllis Maxine Lewis; his son George Wilson Lewis, Jr.; his siblings, Murlene Boswell, Garland and Jimmy Lewis; his daughter Wanda Ortiz; his granddaughter Jodie Butler; and his great grandchild Isiah Wagstaff.
He is survived by: his sons, Jimmy Michael Lewis (Sarah) of Maud, TX, Jim Darden (Julie) of Hooks, TX and Tim Darden; his siblings, Joe Lewis (Jackie) and Martha Hall; his close friend Peggy Pilgrim; and his pet Peanut. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
