With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bessie Nelson of Honey Grove, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 16, 2024 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Johnson and Ola Johnson; her husband Mack Jr. Nelson; and her siblings, J. C. Johnson, Lee Johnson, Billy Johnson, Woodrow Johnson, Choice Johnson, Pearl Johnson, Jewel Porter, Zelema Allen, Doris Johnson and Ruby Titus.
She is survived by: her sons, Kenneth Nelson Sr. (Lois) of Honey Grove and Choice Nelson Sr. (Elaine) of Arlington; her siblings-in-law, Michael McGee (Annetta), Kevin McGee (Alister) and Lawretta McGee (Derrick); her grandchildren, Kelisha Champion (Orlando) of Dallas, Kenneth Nelson Jr. (Tasha) of Celina, Delois Sampson (Courtney) of Honey Grove, Andrew Nelson (Camille) of Houston, Mariah Oliver (Deja) of McKinney, Choice Nelson Jr. (Jaycee) of Commerce, TX, Tabius Anderson Sr. and Candace Cephas (Donald) of Crowley; and her great grandchildren, Kayla Champion, JD Sampson, Mia Sampson, Laden Nelson, Kamden Nelson, Kenna Nelson, Sariah Nelson, Jaisen Nelson, Arianna Nelson, Kason Champion, Kingston Nelson, Baby J Sampson, Cassius Nelson, Cashton Nelson, Donald Cephas Jr., Javon, Jaylen, Jacobi, Madison, Tabius Anderson Jr., Serenity and Leila.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Baptist Church (700 E Scott St, Honey Grove, TX 75446). A burial will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at the Cedar Hill Cemetery (Honey Grove, TX 75446).
