With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rene G. Gonzales Sr. of Hondo, Texas, who passed away on January 31, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Rene is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Rene's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Celso Gonzales and Lucy Gonzales (Barrientes); and his siblings, Celso Gonzales, Jr. and Carmen Arausa. He is survived by: his brother Rodolfo Gonzales (Anna Gonzales); and his children, Rene Gonzales, Jr. of San Diego, John Gonzales of San Diego, Jaqueline Lampinen of San Diego, Tina Rodriguez of San Antonio and Renee Brewington of Tennessee. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hondo Funeral Home (2910 Avenue E, Hondo, TX 78861).
