He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Sr. Correa and Consuelo Constante Correa; and his sister Juana Navarro. He is survived by: his wife Nelda M. Canales Correa; his daughters, Priscilla Guerra (Greg) and Valerie Quintanilla (Carlos); his siblings, Becky Sanchez (Juan), Tina Martinez (Lupe), Estella Quintanilla (Alejos), Candelario Correa (Alicia) and Richard Correa; and his grandsons, Julius, Gregory, Guerra, C. J., Christian Quintanilla and Joe Almanza. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
