He is survived by: his children, Johnny "JJ" Silva, Jr., Cordero Rudy Silva, Derek James Shanks, April Torres (Patricio, Jr.) and Lace Elizabeth Weir (Phillip, Jr.); and his siblings, Rosalinda Mejia (Henry), Patricia Silva, Estella Coronado (Rogelio), Lupita Perez (Jesus), Joe Robert Silva, Joe David Silva and Rodolfo Silva, Jr. (Jo Ann). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
