He was predeceased by: his sisters, Adela Flores, Oralia Elizondo and Elena Perez; and his close friend Oso. He is survived by: his wife Maria Y. Tovar; his children, Gilbert Tovar Jr. (Janet), Jose Ernesto Tovar (late Monica), Robert Tovar (Debra) and Maria E. Tovar (Felipe); and his siblings, Mary Lou Ortiz (late Henry), Consuelo Garcia (late Efrain) and Ernesto Flores (Lupe). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Guinn Funeral Home (2006 Ave M, Hondo, TX 78861). A rosary will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel (2006 Ave M, Hondo, TX 78861). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. John's Catholic Church (2101 Ave K, Hondo, TX 78861). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cowboy Country Church (7360 Co Rd 525, D'Hanis, TX 78850).
