Gail Sullivan Meyer Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gail Sullivan Meyer of Hondo, Texas, born in San Antonio, Texas, who passed away on August 9, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her sister Helen Jackson; and her parents, Ima Sullivan and Orville Sullivan. She is survived by: her husband John Walter Meyer, MD; her daughters, Terese Meyer Foran and Emily Sullivan Meyer, MD; her son-in-law Todd Wascher; her grandsons, Walter DuBose Meyer, John Sullivan Meyer and Pax Wascher; and her sister Terese "T. C." Shafer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

From 2020 to 2022, she home-schooled the boys during the pandemic, imparting the gift of learning she had given thousands of students over her lifetime.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to her memory can be made to the Hondo Public Library (2003 Ave. K, Hondo TX 78861), where she spent many happy hours with her grandsons searching for treasures in the stacks, or a charity of your choice.
