He was predeceased by: his parents, Bentura Leyva and Juanita Dominguez Leyva; his son Alfredo "Freddie" Leyva; his siblings, Miguel "Mike" Leyva and Virginia Carranza; and his brothers-in-law, Condrado Nira, Candelario Garcia and Julio Campos.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Contreras; his children, Antonio "Tony" Leyva (Marybeth) of Castroville, Bentura "Ben" Leyva (Debbie) of Hondo, Frank Jr. Leyva (Susie) of San Antonio, Pete Leyva (Louisa) of San Antonio, Joe Leyva (Angie) of San Antonio, Norma Leyva-Juarez (Villado Juarez) of Austin, Olivia Lara (Ramiro), Irene Rodriguez (Carlos) and Janie Balderas of San Antonio; his daughter-in-law Angie Leyva of San Antonio; his siblings, Salvador Leyva of Hondo, Jesse Leyva (Sofia) of Hondo, Cecilia Nira of Taylor, Lucia Garcia of Taylor and Herminia "Minia" Campos of Taylor; and his sister-in-law Rosa Leyva of Hondo. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
