It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Danny G. Ortega of Hondo, Texas, born in Castroville, Texas, who passed away on January 17, 2022, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Jose M. Ortega; his son Alejandro Ortega; his brother Coach Joe Ortega; and his grandparents, Antonio, Luisa Ramirez, Felix and Refugia Ortega.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Ortega; his children, Estefan Ortega, Nicholas Ortega (Cassie), Antonio Ortega (Katherine) and Miranda Ortega; his mother Guadalupe Romero (Fred); and his sisters, Elida Ortega and Margarita Wiley (David). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous godchildren.
