He was predeceased by: his parents, Judge Owen Giles and Marjorie Giles; and his mother-in-law Soledad Davila. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lourdes Giles; his children, John Giles and Emily Giles; his siblings, Edward Giles and Barbara McDaniel (Tom); his father-in-law Narciso Davila; his sister-in-law Norma Carpenter (Terry); and his nieces and nephews, Thomas, Matthew McDaniel, Autumn Jimenez (Anthony) and Erin Carpenter.
