She was predeceased by: her parents, James Baker Coleman, Sr. and Agatha Nowell Coleman; her husband Jim Larkin Vanya; her son Gary "Mike" Murphy; and her siblings, Mattie Lou Johnson, Ann Harrison, Barbara Prevost, J. B. Coleman, Jr., Grady Lamar Coleman and Charles "Sonny" Coleman.
She is survived by: her children, Julie Ramirez (Albert), Chris Conaway (Valarie) and David Conaway (Annette). She is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
