He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzia Contreras (Jalomo) and Manuel Contreras; his spouse Cruz Vasquez; his sons, Jimmy Contreras, Johnny Conteras, Tony Contreras and Mark Contreras; and his siblings, Candida Contreras and Ramon Contreras.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Juarez (Mark) of Hillsboro, Severo Contreras, Jr. (Sara) of Huntsville and Sam Contreras (Mary) of Knippa; and his sister Maria Rodriguez of San Angelo. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
