Melinda touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her mother Ella Frank Smotherman; her husband Robert E. Bruner of Kerens; her daughter Sherri Lynne Bruner; her grandson Robert Scott Clay; her father Marshall Smotherman; and her sister Patricia Pearce.

She is survived by: her children, Cindy Bruner Clay (Edwin) and Charles Robert Bruner (Cindy Rosatelli Bruner); her grandchildren, Kasi Lynne Clay of Austin, Corey C. Clay of Hillsboro, Braedyn Bruner of Los Angeles, CA and Baylor Bruner Drexel (Kevin); her sister Marsha Kay (Don Johnston) of Midlothian; and also Lovelyn Drexel of Prosper, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
