He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lawrence and Zella Lavonia Phillips (Northen); and his siblings, John Phillips, T. J. Phillips, Doyle Phillips, Alta Elliott, Leta Mead and Opal Maxwell.
He is survived by: his close friends, Ronald and Kim Falkner.
