He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank Vasek and Annie Christine Muniza Vasek; his wife Donna Gayle Mathews; and his siblings, Mary Ann Rydell, Louise Dvorak, Richard Vasek and Edward Ondrias.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Pratka (Brent) of El Campo, Scott Cunningham (Donna) of Wharton and James Vasek, Jr. (Rebecca) of Salado; his sister Dorothy Craige (Bert Nordin) of Naples, FL; and his grandchildren, Faith Cunningham, Hope Cunningham, Kenley Vasek, Erin Vasek and Barrett Pratka.
