He is survived by: his significant other Sherry; his children, Amanda Dillard, Jennifer Ferguson (Michael Ferguson) and Craig Steinkopf (Sarah Steinkopf); his grandchildren, Taylor (Nicholas), Kalylie (Mikey), Hannah, Skylynn, Maddison, Makala, Michael II, Kalea, Chelsea, Bailey and Kirby; and his great grandchildren, Kalli, Avery, Zoey and Camden Sister Jenni Steinkopf. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“I am just so saddened to find out about John. He was always such a good friend and a great person to all. He loved his family unconditionally. All the good times fishing or just hanging out. He was just a special person with the qualities we should all strive for. I still remember taking John and Sherry to get married; I grilled steaks for a meal and then they were off to the honeymoon. Farewell, John. All my condolences to those he leaves behind.”
