It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Allen Jakust of Highlands, Texas, who passed away on December 6, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Jakust and Julia Gerhart Jakust; his grandparents, Harry E. Gerhart and Charlotte Burns Gerhart; and his daughter Denise Oliver.

He is survived by: his wife Paula Heberlie Jakust; his grandchildren, Joshua Ivey and Jessica Ivey; his daughter Lora Minton Gibson (Richard Gibson); his grandchildren, Sarah Chance, Kelli Lambert and Jeffery Minton; his daughter Melissa Weaver (Darrell Weaver); and his grandchildren, Addisyn and Kallie Weaver.
