He is survived by: his wife Julia Lee Chisum of McAllen, Texas.; his brother Malcom Gordon Taylor of LaPorte, Texas.; his children, Deborah Lee Duke (Dwen) of Fleming Island, Florida, Janice Sue Krusemark (Richard) of Bossier City, Louisiana, James Lewis Taylor (Karen) of Pasadena, Texas, Kathleen Ann Taylor of Houston, Texas, Patricia Jean Ruiz (Nat) of Harlingen, Texas, Carolyn Alice Cade (David) of Flower Mound, Texas and Laura Taylor of Brooklyn; his grandchildren, Tanya Lee Christian (Matthew), Jennifer Susan Gray (Cory), Jessica Marie Taylor, Jenna Michelle Taylor, Jamie Lynn Adams (Noah), Justin Taylor Jacobs (Sara), DeLaney Lee Dickinson (Zac), Christopher Allen Metzger, Jonathan Andrew Metzger and Julia Marie Heyman; and his great grandchildren, Chloe Lee Christian, Maxwell David Christian, Madison Taylor Bateman, Ashton James Gray, Paisley Jo Gray, Aiden Sonny Acevedo, Stella May Sanchez, Joe Allen Jacobs and Ophelia Lynn Jacobs.
Joe passed quietly in his sleep following a brave battle with Alzheimer's Disease. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to charities that the family is supportive of: the Alzheimer's Association, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Susan G. Komen Foundation , or the American Cancer Society.
