He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Hicks and Clarice Hicks; and his siblings, Gene, Cecil Hicks and Betty Christian.

He is survived by: his wife Gale Hicks; and his children, Melody Vann, Beverly Hicks and Jim Hicks.
