He was predeceased by: his parents, Loyd Ables and Elbie Ables (Wilson); and his siblings, Jimmy Ables, Joyce Frost and Jean Giesecke.

He is survived by: his brother Buddy Ables (Judy) of Comanche.

“I’m 99% sure this is the Don Ables I knew long ago in the Dallas area. He and I were employed by the same company and worked together for many years. Don was a talented and hard worker. He was conscientious and professional. We worked long hours and had some good laughs along the way. I wish he and I had reconnected after we parted ways so we could talk shop and reminisce about all the folks we used to know. Don was a great guy.
