He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Parks Slaughter; his parents, Elton Slaughter and Lucille Slaughter; his sister Wyvonne; his brother-in-law Calvin Rightmer; his nephew Dan Rightmer; his parents-in-law, Steve and Verma Parks; his brothers-in-law, Ray Parks (June) and S. D. Parks; his niece Teresa Knippers; and his nephew Rick Parks.
He is survived by: his children, Kelli Montgomery of Fort Worth, Erik Slaughter (Shawna) of Argyle and Cole (Carla) of Granbury; his grandchildren, Seth, Dylan (Kourtnye), Kelci, Macaul (Jessy), Mason, Bailey and Paige; his great grandchildren, Witten, Haiden and Parker; his nieces, Jan Boulineau, Tjuna Douglass and Martha Jackson; his nephew Stephen Parks; and his friends, Hico Nursing, Rehabilitation, Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital.
The family suggests donations as expressions of sympathy be made to the Hico Activity Center.
