He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar S. Ireland and Emily Townsend Ireland (Bell); his wife Patsy Ireland; his siblings, Ed Ireland, Woodrow Ireland and Elizabeth Holt; and his grandchildren, Jamie Ireland and Andrew Wright.
He is survived by: his children, John Ireland of Los Alamos, Scott Ireland of Albuquerque, Sylvia Latham of Hereford, Deanne Ireland of Elk Grove and Polly Wright of Elgin; and his sister Rachel Henslee of Hereford.
