With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lillian Marie Batenhorst (Hereford, Texas), born in Clovis, New Mexico, who passed away on November 21, 2020 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolf Abraham and Bertha Erline Drager (Cooper); her son Steve Batenhorst; and her brother George Drager. She is survived by: her husband Henry M. Batenhorst of Amarillo; her daughters, Debra Cupell (Charles) of Tuscola and Ronda Lindsey (Terry) of Memphis; her brothers, David Drager of Bowie and Paul Drager of Plainview; and her grandchildren, Kristy Scroggins, Jill Lindsey, Jade Lindsey and Jolie.

“When I was a kid, my friend Lisa shared a room with Steve at Northwest Texas Hospital. I have told hundreds of people (I'm a retired teacher now) about how dedicated Lilian Battenhorst was to her son Steve. I visited Lisa for years, and I know for a fact that Lilian was there, every morning, in time to feed Steve breakfast. She has remained my archetypal example and real life champion of enduring, unconditional love since I was 14. I am sorry she passed before I could tell her this myself.”
