He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mason and Aleph Mason; his wife Lyla Robbins; and his daughter Kristi Langgood. He is survived by: his children, Cheri Pittard (Joel), Marinda Janovec (Doug) and Van Mason. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to Frio Baptist Church or to Turning Point Ministries.
