He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cleo Earl and Mary Elizabeth Lay (Messinger); his son Brian Lay of Sioux City; and his siblings, David Lee Lay of Breckenridge, Steve Gilbert of Prosper, Mike Gilbert of Urbandale, Linda Gilbert of Hereford, Mary Cruse of Phoenix and Carol Sallee of The Colony.
