He was predeceased by: his parents, Higinio Mendoza and Alicia Garza; his significant other Elvira Contreraz; and his granddaughter Eva Mendoza. He is survived by: his brother Car; his children, Edna Castro, Lydia Mendoza, Alma Mendoza, Ida Trevizo, Gloria Mendoza, Alice Mendoza, Hector, Higinio and Pete Mendoza; and his siblings, Teresa Sierra, Alice Medina, Thelma Brock, Higinio Mendoza, Juan Garza, Albert Garza, Jose Garza and Henry Hernandez. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
