He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Mendez and Maria Mendez (Ramirez); and his children, Alex Mendez, Jr. and Tina Mendez. He is survived by: his wife Ofelia Mendez of Hereford, TX; his children, Juan Mendez (Senaida) of Hereford, TX and Eliza Mendez of Donna, TX; and his brother Oscar Mendez, Jr.. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
