We are sad to announce that on March 10, 2022, at the age of 93, John Oliver Sheppard of Henrietta, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Sheppard and Ona Mae Sheppard; and his spouse Vinnie Lue Andrews. He is survived by: his son Dan Sheppard (Lisa) of Henrietta; his sister Betty Massey (Eddie Tom) of Poolville, Texas; and his grandchildren, Shawnta, Amanda, Cassie (Racey), Jason (Ruth), Mark and Macey. He is also survived by eleven great-grand children; one great-great granddaughter, multiple nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in his name to Henrietta Church of Christ, Healing Hands Hospice of Wichita Falls, or Jefferson Barracks Telephone Museum in St Louis, Missouri.

“Hello Dan! I was very Sorry to hear about the Loss of your Dad, John. I was very Lucky to have met John when you traveled to St. Louis in 2021 to visit our Jefferson Barracks Telephone Museum. The Museum is possible Thanks to the generous donors that want to find homes for their treasured artifacts. Stories we hear from Telephone Retirees make the time we spend at the Museum fun and interesting. Your Dad was very Lucky to have such a great Son and your Memories are Priceless. GOD Bless!”

“Please accept my sympathy for your loss. I was fortunate enough to meet John when he and Dan made the trip to St. Louis to visit our Telephone Museum. I spent some time with John listening to his stories and enjoying his company. He was such a joy to meet. At 93, he lived a long and interesting life and is now in the arms of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I am sure he will be missed by many.”
