He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Ashby and Eunice Ashby (Branham); his wife Judy Lennon of Miller Grove, Texas.; and his son Samuel Loyd Ashby. He is survived by: his children, Trent Ashby (Nickie) of Lufkin, Mikyela Tedder (Mark) of Leander, Mardra Ashby of Shakerag and Emily Whitworth (Bennie) of Shakerag; his grandchildren, Garin, Grant Ashby, Macy Tedder and Baxter Whitworth; his cousins, Kenneth Gladden, Jimmy Gladden, Charles Gladden (Jackie), Brenda Crockett (Sam) and Hal Martin (Rosa); and his brothers-in-law, Johnny Lennon (Kathy) and Rex Lennon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
