As we bid adieu to Billy's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Billy has bequeathed us. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Hawthorne, Sr. and Burtie Lee Hawthorne (Duncan); and his siblings, Roscoe "Blackie" Hawthorne, Jr. and Pauline "Polly" Hanus. He is survived by: his brother Charles Hawthorne of Turnertown; and his nieces, Jennifer Rowe (Sean) of Carthage, Melody Hawthorne of Alabama and Michelle Cross of Turnertown. He is also survived by five great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Zion Hill Cemetery (3558 County Rd 368 E, Henderson, TX 75654).
