He is survived by: his wife Nettie "Louise" Merten of Hempstead, TX; his children, Lanna Merten of Hempstead, TX and Jess Merten (Jeannie) of Hempstead, TX; his grandchildren, Hanna (Kolton), Trevor, Jesse, Kayleigh, Eric and Jase; his great grandchildren, Kenleigh and Levi; and his sisters, Zolene Styers (Lamar) and Sue Barkley (Tommy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
