He is survived by: his children, Jose Guadalupe Avitia, Jr., Jaime Angel Avitia and Dolores Angelica Avitia; his grandchildren, Jose Guadalupe Avitia III and Catalina Anahi Carmona; and his siblings, Teresa Avitia-Barragan, Oton Avitia Barragan, Eliseo Avitia-Barragan, Agripina Avitia-Barragan and Jesus Alberto Avitia Barragan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many great friends.
