It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ophelia Zeigler Eddings of Hemphill, Texas, born in San Augustine, Texas, who passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil "Doc" Zeigler and Ester Mae Harvey Zeigler; her brother Lonnie Zeigler; and her cousin Billie Sue Chambers Bass. She is survived by: her husband Arvie Gene Eddings; her children, Don Eddings (Sherri) of Hemphill, David Eddings (Denise) of Hemphill and Susan Smith (Stuart "Jeb" Smith) of Milam; her sister Dorothy Williams (Leroy) of Hemphill; her grandchildren, Devin Eddings (Aly) of China Spring, Danielle Eddings of Tyler, Garrett Smith (Kali) of Lufkin and Aaron Eddings (Jordyn) of Hemphill; and her great grandchildren, Jack, Ava, Luke and Landry.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Starr Funeral Home Chapel (510 Starr St, Hemphill, TX 75948). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at the Little Flock Cemetery.
