He was predeceased by: his parents, U. N. Martin and Sarah Alice Nolen Martin; and his son Jeffery Martin. He is survived by: his wife Norma Lee Martin of Hemphill; his children, Joe Martin, Jr. (Jamye) of Orange, Tommy Martin (Missy) of Fulshear, Texas and Tonya Martin of Kingwood, Texas; his sister-in-law Reba Barnett of Pineland; and his grandchildren, Clint, Lindsey of Ryan, T. J. and Ashley. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
