He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lucien Rhodes and Hannah Cope Rhodes; and his brother Charles Lucien Rhodes. He is survived by: his wife Eva Ann Rhodes; his children, David Rhodes, Jr. of Fairmount and Sherra Michelle Rhodes Bowers of Austin; his siblings, Larry Eugene Rhodes (Eileen) of Nederland and Charlotte Ann North (Don) of Fairmount; his sister-in-law Julie Rhodes; and his grandchildren, Robert Christian, William Henry and Frances Ann.
