He was predeceased by: his parents, Raul P. Gomez and Paula Gomez; and his brother Rene Gomez. He is survived by: his wife Maria Elida Gomez; his sons, Rafael Gomez (Teresa), Luis Alberto Gomez and Juan Jose Gomez (Iris); his grandchildren, Juan Jr, Liana and Sarah; and his sisters, Raquel Barrera (Eloy), Rosa Elia Garza (Roel) and Rosario Melo (Ramiro). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
