He is survived by : his wife Patsy Ruth Lollis Davis; his sons, Donald (Sugar Bear), Stan and Steve (Marivel); his Tootsiebell, Stephanie (Gabriel) his grandchildren, Donald Dean Davis III, Kevin, Kristi Lynn, Timothy and Shay of James Dean; his great grandchildren, Haley, Amethyst Jade Davis, Amanda Davis, Nicolas Davis, Donald Dean Davis IV, Mila Jameson , Justin Michael, Jemma and his namesake, Perla Dean; and his brother Steven William.
