He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Dowdy and Virgie Connor Dowdy of Ratcliff; his son Gary Matthew Dowdy; and his siblings, Ray of Leonard, L. E, L. E. Dikes, Billy Joe Dowdy and Dorothy Carney (Dot).
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Dowdy (White) of Burke; his sons, Lee Martinez (Charles Henderson) and Greg Dowdy; his daughter-in-law Amanda of Burke; and his daughter Nikki Dowdy of Burke. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
