Michael Del Collingsworth Obituary

Michael Del "Mike" Collingsworth of Hawley went to be with his Savior April 25, 2024, at the age of 70.

Mike was born June 17, 1953 in Puyallup, Washington State. He graduated from Del Valle and began over 20 years of service to his country. Mike served in both the Army and Marines before completing his military career, retiring from the Navy. After leaving the military, Mike began a second career as a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He retired after 20 years service. Mike married Delma Chambers, and the the couple was together 23 years. He was an amazing father and had an uncanny ability to make his family feel loved even through negative situations.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Alton "Cotton" Cravatt and Kathelene "Sug" Cravatt, and his sister, Diana Renee Denny.

Survivors include wife Delma Chambers Collingsworth of Hawley, sons Chad Collingsworth of Pflugerville and Louis Midwell of Waco; daughters Charlotte Collins of Pflugerville, Audrey Griffin of Tye and Amy Lavario and husband Billy of Waco; brothers Derwood Cravatt and wife Judy and David Cravatt; and many grandkids and great-grandkids.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Texas State Veteran's Cemetery of Abilene.
