He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Plemon Thompson and Elva Granger Thompson; his wife Bobbye Thompson; and his sisters, Eddie Hatton and Shirley Baucum.
He is survived by: his son Joe Hugh Thompson (Patsy). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
