She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Klose (Nauert) and Herbert Klose; her husband Wayne Adkins; her sister Carolyn Moore; her brother-in-law Maynard Moore; her brother Wilbert Klose; and her siblings-in-law, Dwanna Klose and Jack Medford.

She is survived by: her children, Cindy Mayfield (Gary) of Haskell, Texas and Kelly Don Adkins (LaDonna) of Canyon, Texas; her sister Ruby Lee Medford of Munday, Texas; and her grandchildren, Casey Marin (Pat) of Houston, Annie Welch (Garrett) of Lubbock, Texas, Cole Adkins (Christy) of Humble, Jay Mayfield (Natalie) of Carthage and Stacy Mayfield (Kelly) of Giddings, Texas. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Verlean's name to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Haskell, Texas.
